Kelly has over 27 years of service in the real estate and auction industry since joining the profession in 1995. Upon graduation from Texas A&M University in 1992, he attended Missouri Auction school and developed a passion for the auction business. Soon after, though, he was hired as field salesman for an oilfield service company in Houston. His oilfield experience led him into a position with a national oilfield equipment auction firm. Three years later, he started his own auction firm with his father and soon ventured into real estate auctions. He has been a licensed auctioneer since 1993 and a licensed real estate broker since 1996 in Texas as well as holding licenses in several other states throughout his career. His background in sales, development, construction, bankruptcy and industrial sales have advanced his knowledge and capabilities for clients across the country.
His career has allowed him to conduct over 2000 auctions and sales of real and personal property assets totaling over $500,000,000. He has had the opportunity to work with banks, lenders, institutional clients, REO departments, special asset managers, workout departments, attorneys and bankruptcy trustees. Furthermore, Kelly has extensive experience selling multiple real property types including undeveloped land, ranches, industrial, retail, office, hospitality, special purpose, multi-family and residential.
In 2008 Kelly’s company was selected as one of three contractors for the FDIC to dispose of personal property assets from failed financial institutions across the United States and Puerto Rico. He has also been an owner of a residential construction firm and an active residential real estate investor.
Kelly has been approved by U.S. Trustee offices to conduct bankruptcy auction events and undertake brokerage activities in the following jurisdictions: Western Dist of TX, Northern Dist of TX, Southern District of TX, Eastern Dist of TX, Eastern Dist of LA, Middle Dist of LA, and Western Dist of LA. He can, if requested, obtain full bonding in any other district or jurisdiction. Further, he has presented expert testimony in bankruptcy cases regarding valuation, sale and auction procedures.
Kelly resides in Wortham, TX, with his wife, Kelli Ann. Together they have twin boys, Smith and Wesson, along with his three other boys, Brady, Bryce and Britt. Kelly is very involved in serving at his church as well as other ministries including Tres Dias and HiSPrint. He has been very involved in youth baseball as a coach and volunteer for over twenty years. Aside from his interest in youth baseball, he is an avid Texas A&M sports fan, college baseball fan, and enjoys hunting and outdoor activities. He has served as a board member for the Texas Association of Auctioneers as well as the Houston Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association.
